I work at the Humane Society in my town, and we have 4 major events to raise funds aside from doing the mail appeals. Two of the four events are much more profitable, and A LOT more work of course.
If you have idea’s that you believe would make a excellent fundraiser. PLEASE share them. I am looking to “step-up” the current rut we are in and bring more people together and raise some money to expand our shelter.

I know of someone who is taking in money from ebay and other places. He says he has a non profit organization but yet it is inactive (according to the state corporation lookup site) as of last year. Can I report them and if so, who can i report him to? I beleive it is illegal to take in money if you are not registered especially with the IRS because non profit organizations still get taxed.

I have always wondered how people who claim to be “non profit” say they are just that, yet on the side they say they’re the “owner”, and they make all the money off the so called non profit. When you incorporate as part of the member of the board of directors, aren’t you forbidden from being compensated for being on the board? How does all that work?
