I am planning on starting a non-profit organization in a foreign country but would like to raise funds in the US. Do I need to be registered as a non-profit in the US? What do I need to given that I only want to raise funds here and set up the organization in a poor foreign country. I was told I need to be registered here but I dont know what to do. Thanks

Hi there, I want to start a not for profit organization in Edmonton, Canada but don’t know where to start, I’m only a teenager and need some help. I have my idea on what I want my organization to focus on but I need a little guidance on where to go now. Please help me out, it’ll be really appreciated!
I am 15 years old, and this Christmas Instead of naming gifts i would like to receive, I would rather have my parents donate money to different organizations. Can any one give me any information on real, non profit organizations? Or good websites i can visit? Have you donated there before? If so, how was a the experience?

What are some trustworthy NON PROFIT organizations that you know for sure are worth donating money to and that will use 100% of the donations toward the cause of protecting animals? I’m looking for organizations dealing with both pets and wild animals, animal abuse, endangered species, etc. I’m planning on starting my own non profit ‘campaign’ of sorts to support a new non profit organization like this each month. I’m starting with animals, but don’t want to donate money to someone who will use it on something completely unhelpful to the actual cause.

Do we have different rules because we are a not-for-profit, volunteer agency? I cant seem to find the answer anywhere, and no one wants to help me!!! We are in New York (not the city)!
We have already applied for our vendors license but our Town is corrupt, and have created a monoply and denied our application so they can make the money for the image committee!! We were kind of looking for a way around it without getting a lawyer and making it ugly!

I’m trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I’m looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. Thank you.
