Someone wrote to me that Google made more profit than Petroleum last year.
This is what they said now percentages is not the same as dollar value and then one has to ask how much revenue was used in paying high salaries for the top people because I know 15 years ago one put up his fifth house for 10 million dollars on transitional beach front property of concrete reinforced steel which housed a 22 car garage in between 2 mansions one for the nanny with a huge glass window to watch inside the pool when she was inside doing work and one for the parents which was two stories with a totally marble curving stairway with 122 fixed lights.
Was googles profit in the millions with lower paying wages and Petroleum in the billions with higher paying top wages?
1. Exxon posted a 17% profit last year.
2. Google posted a 35% profit last year.
profit can be a misleading word
My history teacher in economics told me long ago 5 percent is an excellent percentage in profit for a business after covering all expenses and reinvesting in a company.
