Were American scam religions motivated by a desire to make a true religion or the desire to make profit?

I think the people in most American scam religions don’t point at other Christian religions and say, “They are a false religion.” So this rules out the possibility that they were motivated by a desire to make a true religion, right? I mean, they don’t believe that other Christian religions are false so that leaves the only motivation behind their creation was the desire to make profit or to steal some of the profit made by other Christian religions like Catholicism, right?

  1. Got anything original to contribute, Des?

  2. A bit of both, but mostly it’s about power.
Keep your power, it is a gift for you to use for yourself.

  3. It’s not the religion really doing the scamming…it’s the televangelists etc. driving the Rolls Royce and making big bank imo.

  4. Stupid question, again! Don’t load your question! Try, “Is it true…”

  5. Say yes to good and no to bad.
    Read the book of mormon.
