How well is Mitsubishi doing in sales and profit?

compared to other makes of cars, where does Mitsubishi stand in business success? Even though Mitsubishi makes decent cars, I don’t hear much business news about them compared to makes like Honda, Toyota, GM, Ford, etc.

  1. The company is surviving but in the past decade or more, they have not been doing very well, at least compared to the other big names. I think Honda, Toyota, GM and Ford have huge marketing sectors, whereas Mitsubishi lacks here, hence the reason for you not seeing them much in the news. Their product lineup is smaller but at the same time that can be smart. Notice how if a company comes out with a new vehicle they may cease production of one or even two of their past models. In this economy an overwhelming lineup is a waste (why Pontiac and Saturn, extensions of GM, fell through). Mitsubishi has stuck with some of their core vehicles (Lancer, Galant, Eclipse, Outlander) and gone from there. They need to reconsider some of their offerings and revamp some cars if they want to increase appeal and draw a bigger market but Mitsu’s, like Toyota and Honda though, can run forever…they make great engines. Hyundai has by far made the most progress as a foreign company in the US, with huge jumps in quality and overall sales – keep your eye on them. Mitsu should offer a Ralliart trim on EVERY vehicle – something they’ve actually been working towards.
