Is it because it’s money left over at the end of the fiscal year that could have been spent by them?
Democrat: Big oil? Making a profit? Billions of dollars? How can this be?!?!
If there’s money left over, your evil!
They must be stopped through taxation!
Price of commodities go up? Punish them! Tax them more!
Gez: Life isn’t fair, and who are you to get money someone else worked for?
I don’t. I’m a business owner!
What I’d like to know is why does McCain have a history of consistently voting against women’s key issues like equal pay and child care legislation, women’s health initiatives, minimum wage increases, etc?
making money is not fair to those who do not make money…c’mon get with the program.
we don’t.
we just don’t want to see the average Joe go down in flames for the pockets of already rich men.
Why do middle class Republicans like to defend multi-billionaires and greedy corporate CEOs?
Because the liberals believe that the the redistribution of wealth - better known as Marxism - is the better way to govern.
I think you win the Oversimplification of the Day Award.
Stop to actually examine the issues and do a little research, and I think you’ll find that the basic premise of your question (”liberals think profit is bad”) is WRONG.
er…. windfall profit…
why do conservatives keep leaving that out?
it’s very key… and the whole point of the argument…
oh, I guess that’s why they leave it out… you have no argument without misquoting the other person…
remember when you guys loved ENRON’s big windfall profits and how “ENRON is great and not doing anything wrong and liberals just don’t understand economics”…
how did that work out for you? who understood economics again?
yeah… guess you guys skipped class a few days too…
They don’t. Their party has been taken over by hardline socialists and most of them do not even know it. They will find out the hard way. Just like they did after Carter and Clinton.
well, it just when y’all climb up the ladder on the backs of the hardworking American people to get to the top, then when you get to the top and you pull the ladder up behind ya, that gets to be a problem with us~!!!
Many Democrats and Liberals are businesspeople and business owners.
Your question is completely absurd.
What most of us believe is the following:
-Businesses must be held accountable to ensure that they follow fair trade practices, civil rights, enviormental regulations, and employment law.
-Monopolies should not be allowed.
-All parties should pay their share of taxes
-Goverment has the right/responsibility to ensure the fiscal health of itself and its people by creating an enviorment that fosters good business practices, encourages job growth, or assists in National Security.
I believe your comment is born out of the Democrats attempt to change tax policy on the Energy companies. Their bill was an attempt to encourage these companies to invest in alternative energy rather than continue the business as usual of reliance on fossil fuels.
As corporations by nature do not look into the far future, I believe that the general concept of the proposed legislation is a good one, but their probably is a better way to legislate these incentives so that business will be more receptive to them.
In the interest of National Security the US goverment has the responsibility to ensure the health and safety of its people. Legislation of policies that encourage the reduction of green house gas emissions and are dependence on foriegn oil is a moral imperative. Thinking that business will change due to thier own moral or ethical judment is naive. Corporations exist to make money for thier shareholders.
Liberals despise individual prosperity, private property ownership, and the family. Private property and individual wealth is integral to individualism, and the enemy of the liberal. Liberals believe that wealth is static - anyone who makes money must be stealing it from someone else. Liberals dream of a return to a centralized, 1940’s urban environment. We all ride the bus from a small, dirty, big city apartment to an 8-5 union job. Yet, the liberal typically chooses a career which produces nothing of value - lawyer, bureaucrat, “activist”, etc. - and uses government to extract the wealth of others.
Hi Raven Claw, I added you as a favorite because I liked your answer to my question and gave you best answer regarding a “Yahoo Answer Delete issue”.
Anyways regarding Dems and Republicans, I have to say that all politicians are not that perfect. But, lately I say we give Obama a chance because lately Bush has not done that much for our reputation abroad, and since I live in Greece, I care about those things more than abortion, *** marriage etc. Just show me a good foreign policy where we can participate in the world with respect from other nations and not their fear or contempt.
But, to be fair to all parties, I also viewed this political add on why someone would vote republican.
It makes you think that’s for sure.
Hope my answer was as OK.
