whats big oil
As a libertarian, I’d favor lower taxes.
Maybe that would lower the price of oil.
The government gets profits off everything else , why shouldn’t they get it off gas, it’s the no.1 thing people use the most of
I’m not surprised.
Not surprising since big oil IS the government. Why do you think practical electrical cars haven’t been marketed yet?
yes they tax it what 40 cents a gallon
the US now spends 1 billion per day for gas (the weak
dollar adds to the problem)
and the producing nation gets 70% of the money
the oil companies have to ship, refine etc all this oil
to make 5% tops
we need alternate fuel sources NOW and we need to legislate 50 mpg minimum with all trucks using the commuter lane
Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, (buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market), do not actually work. Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism.
Profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is pathological deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the population with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names and fake backgrounds).
Actual economics is the persons paying the monthly business loan payments of companies voting at work in order to control the property they are paying for.
Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and the criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies.
Anti-democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents, and false government.
This what made the congressional hearing on “obscene” oil company profits such a joke.
In my state (New York), the taxes on a gallon of gas are about ten times the profit that goes to the oil company.
When you consider that it’s the oil company and it’s investment that provides the oil in the first place, you realize how backward this situation is.
But then the ignorant will always enjoy an attack on business and its profits.
They overlook, or never learned, that it’s those profits that provide the investment to keep existing businesses growing and new businesses forming.
So when you read about another business shutting down or leaving the country, just remember who the politicians were who attacked corporate profits as something evil.
They’re the ones responsible when you don’t can’t get a decent job
If the government has any profits, then why are we having deficit spending. Are you really fooled by this cheap shot propaganda site.
Gasoline taxes pay for our roads, without roads to drive on, people would not be buying nearly as much gasoline. Then there is the issue of land usage for roads and highways.
Every time some tanker goes off course and dumps tons of oil into our bays, that also costs government a great deal of money.
Regulation of refineries which tend to be huge polluters.
Then there is the war in the middle east, which is all about oil.
Reality 101, the U.S. government, as in U.S. taxpayers, you and me, subsidizes big oil hugely. Our nations infrastructure was built around making profit for big oil, money borrowed by our governments to build all the roads in the first place, giving gas burning autos a virtual transportation monopoly.
not surprising. In KY they had a bill that when gas hit so much er barrel for so long a one cent tax would be added per gallon. So when you are already paying more than usual they pile on.
EDIT: So poet if the war is for oil, why are prices so high? Why have we seen no profit from it? Show me proof please where we are making money off Iraqi oil. And pls no bs propaganda site. I see enough wasteful spending in the road dept.
In Ca. we had to vote to extend the 7.5% sales taxes because the Dem controlled State House and Senate diverted the gas taxes to developers and special interest projects. These taxes were suposed to be used for highway maintenance and the construction of wider and new freeways. Some of these road projects have now been delayed till 2017 when under Wilson the funds were there. Don’t worry. Hillery said if elected she will take the profits from the oil companies. That in turn will ruin the stock holders. May of whom are retirement funds, private and public. Al Gore, when V.P., engineered the sale of the Elk Hills National oil reserves in Ca. to Armand Hammer’s oil company. The Gores, Sr. and Jr. are major stock holders in that company.
