I AM a conservative to be sure. However, i feel that the American people are becoming slaves to large corporate entities and big banks. I believe in profit. It is a good thing. I just feel that the big guys are ignoring us and doing just what they WANT to do. Am i wrong?
I do not believe that my political idol, Barry Goldwater, would ever want this environment we live in now.
Corporate America owes the most to the stockholders - and their interest is in making the stockholders as rich as possible.
Obviously, corporations are adversarial to the workers — workers are a drain on the profits. Corporation’s goal is to find the balance where they can do the least to keep the workers, while maximizing the profits for the stockholders.
When conservative America turned their backs against union labor, they gave the advantage to Corporation paradigms. And, corporations took advantage — and offshored thousands (tens-of-thousands — hundreds-of-thousands) of jobs. The fallout is becoming obvious - Americans don’t have jobs, or healthcare, or homes….
You are right - and if you are conservative, then you know why this happened - and you support it.
If you think this is wrong - then, perhaps, you aren’t conservative. Perhaps you are a free thinker, and not bound by some nonsensical label of “Republican” or “Democrat”.
Vote your conscious. You are on the right track.
I think you would have a hard time finding anyone who could truthfully answer “No” to your question.
You are right in some aspects.Banks only like rich and powerful people.Rich and powerful people can live off there bank intreast and investments with ease while poor people get slugged with fees all the time. The banks are with the new world order only for the rich and powerful.
I agree somewhat. Changes in corporate management philosophy have been the root cause of this, in my opinion. Nobody stays with the same company for their whole career anymore so you end up with this class of CEOs who just shuttle from one corporation to the next and have no real connection to them. They don’t care about generating profits or keeping their employees happy anymore because they get bonuses no matter what. 40 years ago, the average CEO made roughly 10 times what he paid his average employee, today it’s more like 80-100 times that. America needs more Henry Fords and Lee Iacoccas and fewer Jack Welches and Carly Fiorinas.
I am a fellow conservative but likely a bit older consevertive. Likewise to be sure many of us have experienced heavy handed policies of large corporations.
This is certianly not new nor does it represent any change that I know of.
However many have begun to notice that public relations are beneficial to their bottom line and have incorporated more customer friendly policies.
I think there is an actual improvement overall in some companies.
This is likely the result of the present media driven society. Thats a good thing “Sometimes”
No I had a Chase Master Card Debit Card for my social security and I found out that they were stealing money from me I don’t make enough money as it is on social security and the low life’s were stealing every penny they could from me . I cashed my check at an ATM and it only give out $20 dollar
bills so I had a few dollars left over and If I left it in their bank during the month they called it passive profits and helped their self to it the low life’s. I guess you could call it stealing from the poor to give to the rich.
No. You are spot on. The government is doing everything possible to save the “gamblers” in housing and the large banks that made it all possible along with the FED, SEC and Treasury. Now they are going after some of the crooks, but the problem is, they all are crooks. Our government has been inflating the dollar which has significantly raised the gasoline prices as of today. On TV the Dems are blaiming “speculation”. This is just a head fake to mess with your thought process. It is the weak dollar. The FED can’t raise rates to support the dollar, for fear of tanking even furthur, the housing market and crushing more billions out of the big banks. This is all rotten to the core. The losers aren’t losing, the hardworking, saving US taxpayer is losing.
Our government is trying to steal as much money as possible from your pocket with these crazy things they are doing and not many people seem to recognize what is going on, instead, blaming the oil companies which is pretty stupid. Maybe to blame partly, but the lions share rests with the government, it’s policies and solutions and the world value of the US dollar and how they are destroying any value in the “savings” you might have in either money market accounts or home equity.
Good Luck.
Large corporations have entirely too much power in our country. The corporate will has replaced the will of the American people.
Do you have specific examples in mind?
