Who does Obama think is REALLY going to pay for the windfall profit tax?

Does he even think about what a windfall profit tax will do to the price of gas?
Why don’t any of the Obama supporters answer this question?

    Yep, a business will treat the added tax as an increase in cost and they will increase their prices to compensate for that cost. In the end, the businesses are inconvenienced and the consumers end up paying the tax.

    Other ways businesses will compensate for the added tax is to reduce the quality of their product. Another solution is to eliminate growth or current parts of the business. That would mean a loss of jobs.

    I support Obama and I’ll tell you that the oil companies will pay for it. Same reason that air fares are still relatively low…competition. Sure they may raise prices in the short run but one of them will bite the bullet and lower prices. Once that happens they’ll all do it. To think otherwise contradicts the whole Southwest Airlines and Walmart way of thinking. Heck, if it weren’t true then ARCO wouldn’t be in business.

    I don’t want any rebate and don’t think a windfall tax is the right way to go but it won’t be passed on to consumers. Sorry folks it’s not the way business works. They don’t set prices according to profit levels. They charge as much as they can based upon supply and demand. If they charge more then demand goes down and profits go down anyways. Or do you guys not think that supply and demand drives prices?
