My answer is a series of questions.
What needs improvement in your community? Medical care for teh uninsured and underinsured? Food bank? Emergency housing? Job training? After school programs for at risk kids? Tutoring? Clothes and training for abused women? Job training? Find out.
Once you do that, you will have a project.
Will you be a registered non-profit 501(c)3 IRS status? What do you have to do to get that status? People won’t give unless they can deduct the gift and this is an important part.
Are there clubs or groups in your community who fund things? Check with your Chamber of Commerce. How about Lions who fund eye health issues? Shriners who help crippled children and burn victims? Shelters for abused women?
Then google grants for your mission.
That should be enough for you to do your homework.
