Has anyone had experience with earning extra side income from typing at home? If so, how does it work? and which company should I seek out? I’m in Australia if it makes any difference.

  1. I don’t think these ‘jobs’ exist anymore. Most people just type out their work these days anyhow and since anything can be imported into different applications it’s no big deal.

Be careful with online ads presenting such ‘opportunities’ as they likely 100% to be a scam.

  2. Yes, a lot of those opportunities are scams, & those that aren’t certainly don’t pay the kind of money they like to suggest.

Your best bet if you are looking for a bit of work like that, is to sign up at Rent A Coder (www.rentacoder.com) or eLance (www.elance.com). People who want various computer/internet related jobs done - including data entry, article writing etc. - go to these sites & post their project for people to bid on. If your bid is accepted, the money that they will pay you for the work is then placed into escrow (third-party payment holder). Once you have successfully completed the work, the money will be released to you.

You will be your own boss, & at least there shouldn’t be any problems getting paid. The only downside to this, is the pay isn’t always very good, due to competition from emerging countries where people are prepared to work for a lot less - often you might have to write 20 or so 300 to 500 word articles on a topic for less than US$100….but it is entirely up to you what projects you bid on, if the pay isn’t good enough, then you just don’t bid! :-)
