You could provide school supplies to underprivildged kids, or clothing and games to kids in local shelters or children’s homes.
I think it’s wonderful what you’re doing! All the best to you!
Big Brothers and Sister! Been doing it for 15 years and its extremely gratifying. And they ALWAYS need help.
Something I’ve thought about doing but haven’t yet… Winter coats can be so expensive for struggling families, and I’ve thought about knocking on doors or passing out fliers requesting no-longer-used kid-sized winter coats/hats/gloves to be distributed to homeless or battered-women’s shelters. They could also be donated to schools in poorer areas to be given to kids in need.
A better idea would be to find nonprofit organizations in your area already helping kids, and volunteer through them. Call your local United Way, and look at any of these web sites:

Idealist,
Change.org,
CraigsList,
Network for Good,
ServeNet,
Also, contact your local volunteer center; you can find this via the Points of Light Foundation web site,
